The right HeyGen alternative depends on the job. Pick Segwise if you want new video ads built from the creative patterns already winning in your ad account, Arcads for UGC-style actor ads at volume, Creatify for ads made from a product link, and Synthesia for polished presenter video.
HeyGen is good at what it was built for. It makes lifelike avatars, translates video into 175+ languages, and turns a script into a presenter video in minutes. It also has a page for video ads. What it does not have is a connection to the place your ads run: its own ads page tells you to download each video and upload it to your ad platform yourself.
This guide covers nine alternatives for performance marketers, UA managers and creative teams who make video ads for Meta, TikTok and similar networks. Segwise is an AI creative analytics and generation platform that tags the ads you run and generates new ones from the winners, and it comes first on the list. This is not a roundup of avatar tools for training videos. For the wider category, see our guide to the best AI video ad generators in 2026. Prices come from each vendor's own site, read on October 20 and 21, 2026. Arcads shows dollar prices only inside its app, so we list none for it.
TL;DR: HeyGen alternatives at a glance
Segwise is the pick when you want ads built from your own performance data, not from a blank script. It AI-tags every creative you run across 15+ ad networks, finds the winning patterns, and generates AI UGC-style video and other formats from them, with a "Why this ad" note on each.
Arcads and Creatify are the closest like-for-like swaps for HeyGen's UGC output. Arcads has 1,000+ AI actors for volume. Creatify turns a product URL into an ad.
HeyGen is not expensive. It has a free plan and Creator at $29 a month, so most teams switch for capability, not to save money.
Prices run from $8 a month at TopView.ai (Basic) and $14 at Pencil to $999 a month at AdCreative.ai (Ultimate plan). Several tools charge in credits, so what you pay depends on how many videos you render.
Many of these tools now look at your ad account in some way, but none of the pages we read describe tagging every creative element across networks together with fatigue alerts and MMP data. That combination is what Segwise is built around.
Quick comparison: HeyGen alternatives for ad teams
Quick pick by volume: a few presenter videos a month, stay on HeyGen or try Synthesia. 100+ UGC-style videos a month, Arcads. 20+ ad creatives a month across two or more networks, Segwise. The full breakdown is in the "who should pick which" section after the reviews.
Generating and measuring are different jobs. Plenty of tools here make the video. Segwise is the one built around tagging the ads you already run, alerting you when they tire, and scoring new ones before you spend.
Why ad teams look past HeyGen
Nobody on this list will beat HeyGen at digital twins or dubbing. Avatar V keeps one identity across every video, translation with lip sync covers 175+ languages and dialects, and the text-based editor is fast.
HeyGen also does ads. It has a video ads page, URL-to-video, UGC-style ads and variations for testing. The gap is the ad account. Meta Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads are not in its integrations list, so HeyGen does not see which of your running ads are winning, which are wearing out, or what to make next.
For a team that reviews ROAS and CPA every week, that missing feedback loop matters more than the rendering. So the list below covers two kinds of tool: ones that only make the video, and ones that also look at the results.
The 9 best HeyGen alternatives for ad teams
The first four are the closest swaps for ad work. Captions, Pencil, AdCreative.ai and Revid.ai are adjacent tools that cover part of an ad workflow rather than replacing HeyGen outright, and each entry says where it fits.
1. Segwise - Best for data-backed ad creative

Segwise is an AI creative analytics and generation platform for UA, performance and creative teams. It reads the creative and performance data you already have, finds what is winning, and generates new ads from those patterns. HeyGen starts from a script. Segwise starts from your best ads.
Key features
Generation from your winners. The Creative Generation Agent produces statics, video up to 30 seconds and AI UGC-style video built from your winning hooks, CTAs and styles, each with a "Why this ad" note. The UGC-style video is AI-generated, not a marketplace of filmed creators.
Edit by hand or by prompt. Change the hook, copy, product or layout from a plain-English note, or edit the video directly, then export to each network's sizes (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9 and more).
Tagging across 15+ networks.Segwise AI-tags every creative you run, whether video, image or playable, and maps each tag to ROAS, CPA, IPM and CTR, so you can see which elements drive installs.
Fatigue alerts and pre-flight scoring.Fatigue tracking warns you by Slack and email before a winner decays. Pre-flight Testing scores a new creative out of 100 against your own winners before you spend.
Playables and CTV.Playable ads and CTV spots are available as managed services, formats HeyGen does not mention.
Pricing: Segwise starts at $499/month for advertisers spending up to $250K/month, with a special 50% discount for startups spending under $50K/month. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial with no credit card.
Limitations: Segwise works from your ad data. Pre-flight scoring and generation from winners need connected ad-network data to work from, so a team that has not started running paid ads gets little out of it. It is also not the tool for a single avatar explainer or a digital twin, which is where HeyGen is stronger. Its competitor tracking covers Meta only today.
2. Arcads - Best for high-volume AI UGC actor ads

Arcads is the nearest thing to HeyGen's UGC side, built for performance video. It has a library of 1,000+ AI actors, based on real people who consented and are paid, who speak your script on camera. For DTC brands and app teams that run a lot of UGC-style ads, it is built for volume.
Key features
1,000+ AI actors, plus custom actors from a prompt, image or video, and a self-clone from two minutes of footage.
Workflows that run one script across many actors and languages, or turn one winning ad into 20 UGC variations in a single run.
Mark, the AI ad agent, which picks models, makes and edits the ad, and can analyze a Meta campaign, clone the winner and publish a new Meta ad.
Competitor ads synced from the Meta Ad Library, and static ads from a product photo.
Pricing: Credit-based, with one monthly pool across every model. Dollar prices are shown only inside the logged-in app, so check them when you sign up. According to Arcads' help center, plans run from Starter (8,000 credits a month) up to Business (192,000), billed monthly or 20% cheaper yearly. The free trial lasts 72 hours with 1,000 credits and needs a card.
Limitations: Arcads is a generator first. Mark can look at a Meta campaign, but none of the Arcads pages we read describe a creative analytics dashboard, AI tagging of your live ad library, MMP connections or fatigue alerts. Credits go quickly on premium models: one 8-second Veo 3.1 clip costs 800, a tenth of Starter's monthly pool, and chat turns with Mark cost credits too. The trial rolls into the Starter monthly plan unless you cancel.
3. Creatify - Best for turning a product link into a video ad

Creatify is the quickest route from a product page to a finished ad. Paste a product link and its URL-to-Video writes the script and builds a UGC-style spot with an AI avatar. For ecommerce teams testing dozens of products, that speed is the draw.
Key features
URL-to-Video from a product link, with a library of 300 AI actors on Standard and 1,500 on Pro and above.
Ad Clone to remake an existing ad from a URL, plus an Ad Agent with automations and a Competitor Ad Tracker (10M+ Meta ads) from Pro up.
Performance Agent, which connects to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Snap Ads, AppLovin, Shopify and GA4, audits spend, and can launch and rotate ads.
Aurora, which turns a still image into a talking avatar video.
Pricing: Free plan with 10 credits a month (up to 2 video ads, watermarked). Monthly plans are Standard $15 (55 credits), Pro $55 (280 credits), Max $95 (730 credits) and Business $195 (1,500 credits, shared pool, no per-seat fees). Annual billing is shown at 30% off, for example $10 a month for Standard. A separate API starts at $99 a month.
Limitations: Credits are the catch. By the pricing page's own math, Standard's 55 credits make about 7 five-second Seedance 2.0 videos, and credits expire after two months. None of the Creatify pages we read describe tagging each creative element, MMP connections or fatigue alerts. For a longer comparison, see our Creatify alternatives guide.
4. Synthesia - Best for polished avatar and explainer video

Synthesia is the enterprise-grade avatar platform and the one most like HeyGen on avatar quality. It is used mostly for training and comms, but its clean presenter videos make it a safe choice for brand-safe explainer ads and localized campaigns.
Key features
Stock AI avatars: 125+ on Starter, 180+ on Pro, 240+ on Enterprise, plus personal avatars (3 on Starter, 5 on Pro).
AI Video Assistant that turns docs and prompts into video.
140+ languages and voices, with one-click translation.
Branded video pages and interactive video on Pro.
Pricing: Free Basic plan (10 minutes of video, watermarked). Starter $29/mo, Pro $89/mo, Enterprise custom. Annual billing drops Starter to about $18/mo and Pro to $64/mo. Plans run on credits, with videos up to about 12 minutes on Starter and 60 on Pro.
Limitations: Synthesia is built for corporate video first, and its ad use is the side road. Everything runs on a shared credit pool, so a 1,250-credit Starter month does not stretch far if you render often, and the free plan is watermarked. Like HeyGen, it has no ad-account connection in the pages we read.
5. Captions - Best for phone-first creators and quick ads

Captions is made for creators who shoot and edit on a phone, with a fast lane to AI-generated ads. One-tap AI Creator, AI Ads, AI Skits and AI Twin make it a quick way to produce short-form video without a studio.
Key features
One-tap video generation: AI Creator, AI Ads, AI Twin and AI Skits.
Fully produced AI video plus a chat-based editor.
Digital twins and custom AI actors on paid plans.
Generated B-roll, music, sound effects and images from monthly credits.
Pricing (iOS plans): Free version with basic editing. Max $24.99/mo (500 credits), Frontier $69.99/mo (1,400), Frontier 2x $139.99/mo (2,800), Frontier 4x $279.99/mo (5,600), Enterprise custom. Captions says its prices and features reflect iOS plans only.
Limitations: Captions is tuned for social-content speed and is the loosest fit for a paid-ads team here. Its pricing page shows iOS plans only, so check what you get on web, and the entry Max plan is 500 credits a month, which goes quickly if you generate video rather than edit it.
6. TopView.ai - Best for turning product pages into UGC

TopView.ai focuses on ecommerce and DTC: turn a product page or asset into a UGC-style video with AI avatars. It overlaps heavily with Creatify, and the two are worth testing side by side if URL-to-ad is your main workflow.
Key features
Video Agent that plans scenes, picks models and generates assets from an idea, script, reference video or product URL, with every shot editable on a canvas.
AI UGC Video, AI Product Video and AI Ads Video tools.
Video Clone to adapt a reference or competitor ad to your brand.
Product Avatar, with 30+ language localization.
Pricing: Billed monthly, the page showed Basic $8, Plus $24, Business $58 and Ultra $112 (list prices $18, $36, $75 and $150, struck through). Billed annually it showed Plus $18, Business $44 and Ultra $50, and Team at $56 per seat (two-seat minimum). Enterprise is custom.
Limitations: Many of those prices are promotional and the page runs countdown offers, so confirm the number at sign-up. Entry plans are small: Basic's 50 credits a month is about 33 seconds of Seedance 2.5 video at 720p by the page's own estimate. It is also a production tool, with no creative analytics layer described in the pages we read.
7. Pencil - Best for brands that want performance scores

Pencil is part of The Brandtech Group and sits between pure generation and pure analytics. It generates ad ideas from your brand assets and guidelines, then attaches a performance score, which is a different pitch from HeyGen's.
Key features
AI agents that generate text, images, video and ad creatives.
Realtime insights and scores on your ads.
Launch and track ads on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google Display, DV360 and LinkedIn.
Multi-format resizing and channel layouts.
Pricing: Core $14/mo (50 generations), Growth $55/mo (250 generations), Pro custom. Annual billing drops Core to $11/mo and Growth to $44/mo. A free guided sign-up lets you make six ads.
Limitations: Pencil's pages describe scores and insights, not tagging each element of your live ads across networks, MMP data or fatigue alerts. Video is one output among several, so it is lighter than a UGC specialist like Arcads, and its plan comparison table lists several features as "coming soon".
8. AdCreative.ai - Best for static ad variations at scale

AdCreative.ai is best known for generating ad banners and scoring them for likely conversion. It now also makes video, so it earns a place for teams that want many ad variations with a score attached, rather than avatar-led UGC. It is the volume play for display and social creative.
Key features
Bulk ad generation of banners and photos with conversion scoring.
Video tools including Ad Videos, Product Videos, UGC Videos and Storytelling Ads.
Creative Insights that analyze your connected ad accounts for top-performing creatives.
Competitor Insights and an ad copy generator.
Pricing: Monthly billing is Starter $39 (20 credits), Professional $249 (300 credits) and Ultimate $999 (300 credits, more brands and users). Yearly billing is shown at 50% off: $20, $125 and $500 a month. Enterprise is custom. The trial lasts 7 days and needs a card. These are the numbers on AdCreative.ai's own homepage; its /pricing page returned a 404 when we checked, so confirm the plan that includes video at sign-up.
Limitations: A credit is used each time you download a creative, so exporting the variations you actually run adds up on Starter's 20 credits. The site tags UGC Videos and Storytelling Video as new, so video is the younger half of the product, and static volume is its strength.
9. Revid.ai - Best for faceless and short-form social video

Revid.ai turns an idea or a link into short-form video, with avatars, face swaps and an AI influencer generator. It leans toward faceless social content and short organic clips, which makes it a useful companion for teams repurposing ads into TikTok and Reels.
Key features
Idea or link to video in one flow: script, visuals, voice and captions.
Avatars, face swaps and podcasts.
AI Influencer Generator for recurring characters.
Publishing to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, with post stats.
Pricing: Growth $39/mo ($32/mo billed yearly, 2,000 credits), Ultra $199/mo ($166/mo yearly, 12,000 credits), with larger credit tiers above. No free plan, but new accounts get free credits with no card.
Limitations: Revid is built for creators posting organic content, so it is an adjacent tool for ad teams, not a full HeyGen replacement. Its pricing page shows Growth at $99 struck through to $39, so confirm which rate applies when you sign up. Its sweet spot is faceless short-form, not conversion-led UGC ads.
Who should pick which HeyGen alternative
Match the tool to your spend, your creative volume and whether you need measurement or only rendering. The thresholds below are our rule of thumb, not vendor limits.
If HeyGen already covers your ad jobs, stay. If you make a handful of presenter or digital-twin videos a month, you are not fighting creative fatigue, and the $29 Creator plan fits your budget, switching adds work for little gain.
If you run paid ads and want generation grounded in performance data, pick Segwise. It fits advertisers spending up to $250K a month, with the startup discount under $50K; above that, talk to Segwise about a custom plan. It starts to pay off once you run about 20 or more creatives a month across two or more networks, where tagging and fatigue alerts have enough to work on.
If you push 100+ UGC-style videos a month, pick Arcads, with 1,000+ AI actors and workflows that turn one script into 20 variations in a single run.
If you test 20 or more products a month in ecommerce, Creatify (from $15/mo) and TopView.ai (from $8/mo) turn a product URL into a UGC video in a click.
If you make only a few videos a month but need brand-safe avatars in many languages, Synthesia (from $29/mo) is closest to HeyGen.
If you want a predicted score on a small budget, Pencil starts at $14/mo for 50 generations. To score new creatives out of 100 against your own live winners before spend, Segwise does that.
If you need many static variations with occasional video, AdCreative.ai covers breadth from $39/mo, and Revid.ai handles faceless short-form from $39/mo.
How to switch from HeyGen without losing momentum
Moving off HeyGen does not mean starting over. Plan on a week or two, in this order:
Check your billing date first. HeyGen bills annual plans once a year, and a cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, after which the account drops to the Free plan. Unused credits do not carry over after you cancel, so spend them before you go.
List the jobs you use HeyGen for. Usually that is UGC-style ad spots, presenter explainers, translated versions, quick variations and resizing. Map each job to a tool above: UGC to Arcads or Creatify, explainers to Synthesia, data-backed iteration to Segwise.
Download your finished videos and pull the numbers from your ad networks. HeyGen does not hold ad results, because you upload the videos to your ad platforms yourself. Export ROAS, CPA and CTR per ad from Meta, TikTok or wherever the ads ran, so you know which HeyGen videos actually won.
Plan to re-create any digital twin. HeyGen requires on-camera consent for every custom avatar, and none of its help pages we read describe moving a twin to another tool. Expect to record again. Arcads can clone you from two or more minutes of video, and Creatify's Pro plans include 3 custom avatars.
Connect your ad networks to an analytics layer before you generate anything new. With Segwise this is a no-code OAuth step, and history is imported and tagged automatically, up to 14 days on the free trial and up to 3 months on paid plans. Patterns and fatigue signals usually surface within hours.
Rebuild your top two or three winners from their patterns, not from a blank prompt. Score them with Pre-flight Testing, then run them next to the originals with the same budget before you shift spend.
Keep HeyGen for what it does best. If you still need polished avatars or translation, its free plan or Creator plan costs little, and you can run it next to an analytics layer rather than asking one tool to do both.
The point of the switch is the feedback loop: each round of creative informed by the last. If you want generation that starts from the patterns already winning in your account, tagged and scored before you spend, start a free Segwise trial and generate your first ad from your own winners.
